2012 Tasting Notes
Every characteristic of this wine is pure Block 3; the crushed herbs are there, dancing with eastern spices and leather; the haunting raspberry purity of the front palate; the way the wine swells in the mouth; then the chocolate finish kicks in and simply refuses to leave. Precision reigns supreme throughout, allowing each phase to be explored and enjoyed.

In the Bannockburn neighbourhood of Central Otago, there is a winery called Felton Road. It is a well-known and well-respected winemaker in New Zealand, and its Pinot Noir wines are regarded as some of the best examples of that variety in the New World. Additionally, Riesling and Chardonnay-based wines are produced by Felton Road.
The estate is made up of four vineyards: the original Elms Vineyard, the MacMuir Vineyard, the Calvert Vineyard, and the Cornish Vineyard, all of which are located in Bannockburn on warm, north-facing slopes. The 'Block' series of wines are produced on the Elms grape, which was initially planted in 1992.
East Coast Cellars is proud to give you a very special journey through 3 consecutive vintages of one of New Zealand's most awarded Pinot Noirs.
