1969 Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

$2,619.74
Base of Neck, Minor Label Stain/s. About This Wine The rich and powerful Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon, Penfolds’ first commercial release of a single cabernet-based wine, is linked to Max Schubert’s ambition to create a long-lived Australian red wine. Early Bin 707s were typically open fermented under wax-lined header boards and matured in seasoned old oak rather than new oak. This vintage was made as an early drinking wine with most bottles now well past their best.  About the Winery Penfolds is one of Australia’s most historic producers, founded in 1844. The winery is widely known for multi-region sourcing and its role in shaping Australian Cabernet and Shiraz styles. Bin 707 has long held a place among Australia’s iconic cabernet wines. Treasury Wine Estates is the current owner. Specifications Vintage: 1969 Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon Region: South Australia / Australia Fermentation: Open fermented under wax-lined header boards Maturation: Matured in seasoned old oak Ownership: Treasury Wine Estates Closure: Not specified
