91/100 — Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate · 1992 Vintage
“A very seductive, fragrant nose of Asian spice, black fruits, graphite, earth, and underbrush jump from the glass of this very full-bodied, sweet, expansive, rich wine that has terrific purity and no hard edges. It is a seamless, seemingly fully mature classic that can be drunk now and over the next 12–15 years.”
About This Wine
Basket Press Shiraz is Rockford’s flagship wine, produced using traditional winemaking methods. The fruit is sourced from dry-grown old Shiraz vineyards across the Barossa Valley, including Kalimna, Ebenezer, Eden Valley and Central Barossa.
The wine is made with minimal modern intervention, relying on basket pressing and traditional equipment restored from the 1850s, preserving a classical Barossa expression of power, richness and longevity.
