About This Wine
The grapes for Noon Eclipse are picked from three vineyards surrounding and adjacent to the house and winery in McLaren Vale.
Vines are grown on their own roots, unirrigated and not trellised, with low yields to ensure full flavour development.
The wine is produced from Grenache grapes from low yielding vines, with a focus on harvesting fully ripe fruit to express the flavour of the grapes and the site.
Fermentation takes place in small open vats with manual pigeage, followed by gentle basket pressing. A minimalist approach is taken with very little intervention.
The wine is matured for 18 months in seasoned 300 litre French and American oak barrels and large oak casks.
Producer Notes
Displays a healthy red colour, now showing a little brick in the hue appropriate for its age. Smells very inviting, with sweet berry fruit along with vanilla and spice and a touch of cedar from bottle development. A big, soft, generous mouthful. Good length. Very attractive.
