“Tiefdunkles Rubin granat, violetter Reflex, zarter Wasserrand. In der Nase intensive dunkle Beerenfrucht, feine balsamische Noten, pfeffriger Touch, zarte Pfefferminze im Hintergrund. Saftig, reife Herzkirschen, lebendig strukturiert, zitronige Nuancen, lebendige Mineralik im Abgang, gute Balance, eher rotbeeriger Nachhall, After Eight im Rückgeschmack.”

“Even at seven years of age, the 2006 Stonewell is a rich, thickly textured Shiraz. Dark fruit flavors combine easily with tobacco and cedar shavings, adding some Port-like spice notes on the long finish. Drink now–2020.”
About This Wine
Stonewell Shiraz is produced from selected vineyards identified for their smaller berries, deeper colour and more intense flavour, referred to as “Little Black Jewels.”
It is a limited release, only made in vintages where grapes reach the required standard, with quantities depending on vineyard selection.
Fermented and macerated on skins for up to two weeks with partial barrel fermentation, followed by maturation in French oak hogsheads for approximately 18 months.
Producer Notes
In the beginning we made just one Shiraz, the grape variety that has defined the Barossa as one of the world's great wine regions. But we knew Shiraz that came from some vineyards was better than others - smaller, deeper in colour and more intensely flavoured - 'Little Black Jewels' we called them. For over 20 years, Stonewell has been lauded as one of Australia's greatest wines and one of the world's greatest Shiraz.
About the Producer
Peter Lehmann Wines was established in 1980 in Tanunda, South Australia, by its founder Peter Lehmann, widely known as "the Baron of the Barossa".
The winery sources grapes from more than 140 growers across the Barossa and Eden Valleys and the Adelaide Hills, with estate vineyards accounting for only a small portion of total production.
Stonewell Shiraz is the winery’s icon wine, produced from selected vineyards including those in the Marananga district of Barossa Valley.
Following the death of Peter Lehmann and his son Doug Lehmann, the company was sold to Casella Family Brands.
