Four rows of ancient Shiraz vines—just enough to produce around 200 dozen bottles—were planted by Johann and William Jacob in 1847. Today, these surviving rows form one of Australia’s most treasured historic vineyards, yielding wines of extraordinary depth and authenticity.
This release displays a deep, vibrant colour that remains remarkably youthful for a wine nearing five years of age. Matured in a combination of new and seasoned French hogsheads, it is still in the early stages of what promises to be a very long and graceful life. Dense layers of blackberry, anise and dark plum unfold with purity and balance, supported by fine tannins and superb natural concentration.
A rare opportunity to experience over 167 years of living liquid history, captured in a wine of both power and exquisite harmony.
