Tasted: Jan 2014 · When to drink: 2025 to 2031
About This Wine
The Bindi property was originally part of the Bundaleer Homestead purchased by Keith and Thea King (Dixon) in 1956. The original planting of vines in 1988 saw Chardonnay and Pinot Noir replace sheep as the focus at Bindi.
The Original Vineyard is a gently north-sloping, three-acre site with quartz-riddled soils. It has become known for its signature perfumed bouquet and silky, pure palate, producing very fine, spicy and fragrant wine with high natural acidity.
The wine spends 15–17 months in French barrels (about 25% new). Production typically varies from 300–450 dozen per vintage.
