96/100 — James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion · 2014 Vintage
“Obviously enough, from the oldest vines on the estate, open-fermented, wild yeast, 5% whole bunches, 95% whole berries, 15 days on skins, matured for 11 months in French oak (30% new). The fragrant bouquet tells of the poised and focused palate that follows; here savoury, earthy nuances are the stage for the purity and elegance of the dark fruits of the palate.”

About This Wine
The Bindi property was originally part of the Bundaleer Homestead purchased by Keith and Thea King (Dixon) in 1956. The original planting of vines in 1988 saw Chardonnay and Pinot Noir replace sheep as the focus at Bindi.
The Original Vineyard is a gently north-sloping, three-acre site with quartz-riddled soils. It has become known for its signature perfumed bouquet and silky, pure palate, producing fine, spicy and fragrant wines with high natural acidity.
