About This Wine
The Old Bastard Shiraz is sourced from Kaesler’s original Old Vine Trio, with Shiraz vines planted in 1893. First released in 1998, the wine is regarded as a benchmark for premium Barossa Shiraz and is produced from a small parcel of ancient bush vines.
The wine is matured in French oak and is recognised for its longevity, with the berry character becoming more prominent over time.
About the Winery
Kaesler is an Australian wine producer located in the Barossa Valley of South Australia. The estate comprises several vineyards totalling approximately 37 hectares, including the Home Vineyard which surrounds the winery.
The Old Bastard Shiraz is the flagship wine of Kaesler, released to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the original vineyard plantings. The estate also produces Alte Reben Shiraz, WOMS and the Stonehorse range.
