About This Wine
The Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a low-yielding vineyard in McLaren Vale, planted to an almost extinct clone and located close to the winery. Small batches are crushed and fermented in five-tonne open fermenters with foot treading during fermentation. Basket pressing and French oak barrique maturation complete the process. The wine shows red berries, cassis, refined leafy notes, spicy acidity and gravelly tannins with restrained oak and old-vine character. It is structured and suited to medium- to long-term cellaring.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Red berries, cassis and refined leafiness.
Palate
Young and fresh with spicy acidity and gravelly tannins; restrained and balanced oak supporting the old-vine character.
