About This Wine
Penfolds RWT Bin 798 is a single-region Barossa Valley Shiraz matured exclusively in French oak. First released in 1997, it was created to offer an elegant alternative to the multi-regional, American-oak style of Grange. The 2015 vintage reflects a season shaped by above-average winter and spring rainfall, mild ripening conditions, and an early harvest, producing fruit with purity, depth and fine structure.
Tasting Notes
Deep colour with a dark, concentrated core. Aromas of panforte, blue fruits and cedary French oak. The palate is textural and layered, saturated with red and blue berries and both red and black liquorice. Fine, sleek tannins frame a long, even finish.
