Crafted in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, Masi’s Costasera Amarone is a benchmark for the region. The 2018 vintage blends Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes using the traditional appassimento method, where grapes are partially dried for enhanced richness and concentration. The wine is then matured in oak barrels to develop complexity and elegance.
Tasting Profile
The wine displays a deep ruby colour. The nose opens with aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and blackberries, layered with hints of cocoa, cinnamon, and sweet tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, showcasing dark fruit, balsamic nuances, and a touch of spice. The finish is long and smooth with well-integrated tannins.
Cellaring Potential
Structured for aging, this Amarone can be enjoyed now or cellared for over a decade to develop greater depth and refinement.
Food Pairing
Ideal with grilled or braised meats, mature cheeses, or rich pasta dishes. A perfect companion for special occasions or contemplative sipping.
