This classic Yarra Valley Shiraz from Yeringberg is showing those trademark Shiraz characters of cracked black pepper and great fruit weight, there is also some good concentration and a long powdery tannin finish.
The de Pury family tradition of excellence in winemaking and farming, which started in 1863, is continued today by fourth-generation siblings Sandra and David de Pury.
This wine is a savoury and spicy cool climate shiraz. The grapes we're grown on a steep and stony north facing slope at the Yeringberg vineyard. It will mature gracefully in the cellar for 5-9 years or more.
Critic tasting note: (2018 vintage) "For Yeringberg, one of the Yarra Valley's founding wineries, 2018 has proven a stellar vintage. This Shiraz could cellar nicely for several years but is drinking beautifully right now. There's high-toned black and red-berry fruit, licorice, baking spice and a citrus dusting polish note. It has a crunch of acidity and a juicy purity of fruit. The tannins are uniquely textured and savory. Christina Pickard" - Wine Enthusiast
