2019 Bass Phillip Estate Chardonnay 1.5L Magnum

Bottle Size: 1500ml, Original Wood Box Critic tasting note: (2019 vintage) "A rich gold hue, Bass's Estate Chard shows a quiet power. It commences with gentle aromas of lemon, melon rind, and toast, with a little seashell reduction. The palate is beautifully textured—satiny and mouthfilling—with a cream-and-toast underbelly. Currently on the shy side, this could age for a decade or more but would make for elegant food pairing now." - Wine Enthusiast Ripe and powerful Gippsland Chardonnay, with great texture and a certain French je ne sais quoi. Bass Phillip is under the winemaking guidance of a well known Burgundy name, Jean-Marie Fourrier, and there is an old-school Burgundian texture to the Estate Chardonnay. Some struck match and toasty notes surround a peach/ nectarine fruit core, and it is a beautifully layered complex wine. Australian sunshine richness, organic and biodynamic viticulture, and new French expertise is an excellent menage a trois.
