Named after the rare Marsican bear of Abruzzo in honour of Frank Mitolo’s heritage, it represents the pinnacle of the estate’s winemaking philosophy: power with finesse. The 2019 vintage is a deep crimson-purple in the glass. Aromas of blackberry, dark cherry, and plum are layered with notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with concentrated black fruit, olive tapenade, liquorice, and savoury undertones. Fine, polished tannins and vibrant acidity provide balance, while quality oak integration adds texture and depth.
