Appellation: Sauternes AOP, Bordeaux, France
Varieties: Sauvignon Blanc & Sémillon
Alcohol: 12.5%
Bottle Size: 750ml
Style: Dessert Wine – Lush and Balanced
Winemaking:
From the heart of Bordeaux’s Graves region, Château Audinet crafts its Sauternes through the influence of the Botrytis cinerea fungus—known as noble rot—which naturally concentrates the juice in the berries. With low yields and careful late harvesting, the grapes produce complex, long-lived wines of great aromatic richness.
Tasting Notes:
Brilliant golden in colour, the wine reveals an alluring bouquet of honey, candied apricot, and orange blossom. The palate is luscious yet finely balanced, showing notes of ripe peach, citrus marmalade, and caramelised pear. Fresh acidity carries the sweetness gracefully through a long, elegant finish.
Food Pairing:
Ideal with blue cheeses such as Roquefort, foie gras, or fruit-based desserts like tarte Tatin and crème brûlée.
Cellaring Potential: Drink now or cellar for 8–10 years to develop deeper honeyed complexity.
Producer: Mis en bouteille par Grands Vins de Gironde, Saint-Loubès, France.
