2020 Georges Descombes Fleurie 'Vieilles Vignes', Beaujolais

Since 1988, Georges succeeded his father and tends to 15 hectares across Brouilly, Régnié, Morgon, Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, and Chiroubles. Inspired by Marcel Lapierre, Georges adopts a "natural" approach, certified organic, hand-harvesting grapes and using minimal sulfur. Descombes wines exemplify exceptional Beaujolais craftsmanship, showcasing complex aromas, lush fruit, and impeccable balance. Georges Descombes remains a top Beaujolais producer! Why do we like it?  The warm and dry 2020 vintage produced wines that are ripe and lush. Georges' Fleurie is a superb wine. It possesses a beautiful aromas of violet, raspberry and blackberry with brown spices and earthy notes. Also a bit granitic, the wine is simply is very attractive. This is a super bottle; sweet, fresh, crunchy with perfect balance and super length.
