Sourced from a selection of blocks across the historic Mount Langi Ghiran vineyard situated in the Grampians region of Victoria, where the combination of Langi’s cool climates, old vines and granite sands produce Shiraz with great intensity, purity and finesse. Region: Grampians Vineyard: Mount Langi Estate Vine age: Average 25 years Clone / Rootstock Swiss & PT23, majority on own roots Soil type | Granite sand over red clay-loam Harvest date: April 2020 Harvest method: 50% Hand and 50% machine picked Winemaking ALCOHOL 14.50% BOTTLE SIZE 750ml PH 3.46 WINEMAKING NOTES 100% whole berry ferments in both small open, and large, open-top concrete fermenters. A mixture of plunging and pump-overs during an average of two weeks on skins. Natural yeasts were used and once ferment was complete, the wines were pressed to tank to settle overnight and then transferred to barrels to complete MLF. Tasting Notes COLOUR Bright medium garnet NOSE Blackberry, black cherries, vanilla, tar and baking spice. PALATE Raspberries, red currant, red liquorice and blackberry mix on the palate with baking spice and mocha notes. Pure, acid drive and silky tannins.
