This wine is a must-have for any serious wine collector, with the 218 vintage just being released.
Produced from a 1.5 hectare plot of vines first planted in 1892 and gradually replaced via layering, approximately 15% over the past 30 to 40 years. 14.5%.
Very attractive, vibrant aromas of spice, florals, liquorice, blackberry and plum. Velvet-like and ultra-refined on the palate, showing plenty of dark berries, plum and spice, yet very refined in style. The tannins and acidity are certainly present, giving the wine excellent structure, yet with ample fruit to carry it. Very good complexity and depth, really lovely wine. 93+ points, drink 2020 to 2052 (Oct 2019).
