Penfolds New Release - Celebrating 180 years (1844-2024) Gift Box The Penfolds Bin 149 Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium blend combining the best of Northern Hemisphere vineyards with South Australian cabernet sauvignon. The name "Bin 149" reflects the proportion of South Australian cabernet in the mix, creating a distinct and harmonious wine. Sourced from Napa Valley, it showcases robust tannins and dark fruit flavors, while maturation in French and American oak barrels enhances its complexity and quality.  Excellent winter rainfall and a cool, wet spring delayed the growing season but led to optimal conditions later, producing a strong vintage with bright acidity, fine tannins, and vibrant varietal character. The wine was aged for 16 months in a mix of 80% French and 20% American oak barrels, with most being new. Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon combines with South Australian cabernet for a multi-regional blend Max Schubert could only dream of. Matured in French and American oak, this release shows a dark fruit intensity with notes of black pepper and coffee liqueur. Country: U.S.A.
