Burn Cottage, a 28-hectare biodynamic estate in Central Otago, New Zealand, was founded in 2002 by Marquis and Dianne Sauvage. Nestled in the Pisa Range foothills, this family-owned vineyard emphasizes sustainability, with 10 hectares of Pinot Noir vines amid a working farm of cattle, bees, and olive groves. Winemaker Claire Mulholland is the one in charge at Burn Cottage, she made a vibrant expression of the region’s continental climate.
Why do we like it?
The wine boasts a deep ruby color, with aromas of red cherry, plum, and thyme, layered with earthy forest floor and spice. The palate is silky yet structured, with fine tannins and a lingering, mineral-driven finish
