93/100 — Neal Martin, Vinous · 2022 Vintage
“The 2022 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru has a more flinty bouquet than the Mont de Milieu, a little stern at first, then opening with hints of almond and Paris Bresse. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation, impressive weight and density, very cohesive and poised towards the finish. This is a very impressive, very delicious Fourchaume.”
90–92/100 — Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy · 2022 Vintage · Tasted Jul 2023
“From a 500 litre barrel. Pale lemon and lime. The bouquet is quite graceful and elegant. Maybe a faint honeysuckle from the ripeness. Stable with a medium intensity of fruit, and a lemon note. Very pretty, not quite so classic. Drink from 2027-2032.”
About This Wine
Premier Cru Fourchaume.
From two south-facing plots at the top of the slope, where very stony soils contribute to the wine’s mineral expression.
Long and precise in style, this is a quintessential dry white wine.
About the Winery
Founded in 1895, Domaine Gérard Duplessis is a family-run estate located in the heart of Chablis. Today, the domaine is managed by Lilian Duplessis and farms 9 hectares across Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru sites.
The vineyards have been cultivated organically since 2007, achieving certification in 2013, and now incorporate biodynamic practices.
Village, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru vineyards are planted on Kimmeridgian limestone soils, while Petit Chablis parcels sit on Portlandian limestone.
