Glaetzer Anaperenna is a blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Voluptuous, opulent and yet refined, with a very long and satisfying finish.
Vineyard notes: "Exceptional old vine fruit was sourced from the famed Ebenezer sub district at the northern tip of the Barossa Valley. Vine age 30—100 year old Shiraz and 30—130 year old Cabernet. Yield 2.5 tonnes per hectare."
Producer tasting notes: "Colour: Almost glowing black with deep red hues. Aroma: A heady bouquet of mulberries, blackcurrant, clove, aniseed and nutmeg. A fine white pepper nuance intermingles. Palate: Fine Cabernet tannins provide the structural framework for the flesh and fruit driven nature of the Shiraz. A dense yet savoury palate with depth and boldness also exhibiting an elegant restraint." - Glaetzer Wines
A deeply coloured cabernet sauvignon, one possessed of opulent black-fruited heft and a slightly broody disposition. Ben Glaetzer's wines are no wallflowers. There is no expectation of pontificating on space or filigree. You just stare at the glass, google-eyed at its latent power and opulence. Not a herbaceous bone in this wine's torso. Just thick black fruits, licorice, earth, graphite, fine, sandy tannins and a smooth, hydraulically consistent flow of rich fruit far into the distance. - 95 Points, Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
