96/100 — Nick Ryan, The Australian · Sep 2024
“This is proof of concept, the justification for building excitement at Belbrook. Grilled nut and curry leaf, buttered popcorn, yuzu curd. Sinewy and taut, a bottle full of coiled springs. A smidge of waxy texture rolling through the mid-palate before tightening through a long, crystalline finish.”
95/100 — Huon Hooke, The Real Review · Mar 2024
“Light-mid yellow colour; very powerful and complex on the nose, passionfruit, grapefruit, lemon essence and tangy, the passionfruit the only left-field component—almost a whiff of sauvignon blanc! The wine sings on the palate, with tangy citrusy acidity and juicy, with bucket-loads of fruit flavour all energised by bright, refreshing acidity and a long and electric follow-through.”
About This Wine
Fruit from the Belbrook vineyard was supplemented by carefully selected parcels from the Coal River Valley, Derwent Valley and East Coast.
A combination of Chardonnay clones I10V1 and P58 was gently pressed into large-format seasoned French oak for indigenous fermentation.
The wine received minimal intervention during the 10-month élevage on lees in barrel before bottling.
