Tasting Notes:
This Chardonnay showcases aromas of white peach, lemon curd, and subtle oak spice. On the palate, it delivers a harmonious balance of creamy texture and vibrant acidity, with notes of nectarine, citrus zest, and a hint of toasted almond, finishing long and refined.
Winemakers’ Notes:
The fruit was hand-picked in the cool of early morning and gently whole-bunch pressed. Fermentation was carried out in a combination of French oak barrels and stainless steel to preserve freshness while building complexity. Partial malolactic fermentation and 9 months of lees aging add depth and a silky mouthfeel.
Vintage Notes:
2022 in Southern Tasmania began with a cooler-than-average spring, which delayed flowering and contributed to moderate yields. A mild summer with extended ripening allowed grapes to develop nuanced flavors while retaining natural acidity. This vintage produced Chardonnay of great purity, structure, and age-worthiness.
