About This Wine
Les Clos is the largest and most renowned of the seven climats of the Chablis Grand Cru appellation. It is situated on a single southwest-facing slope above the town of Chablis and is planted exclusively to Chardonnay.
The vineyard covers approximately 26–27 hectares at the southern end of the Grand Cru slopes, bordered by Valmur to the north and Blanchots to the south. Its uniform slope, full afternoon sun exposure and cool continental climate allow optimal ripening while retaining the fresh acidity that defines Chablis.
The soil is composed of limestone and clay derived from Kimmeridgian marl, with excellent drainage that encourages deep root systems and contributes to the wine’s mineral intensity and long ageing potential.
