This Reserve Pinot Noir is the flagship release from Devotus, showcasing the most exceptional fruit from their organically farmed, tightly spaced single vineyard in Martinborough. The 2023 vintage benefited from a cooler, extended growing season, yielding fruit with great purity, precision, and balance.
Hand-harvested and fermented with a significant portion of whole bunches, the wine was matured in fine French oak (approximately 30–40% new) to enhance structure and complexity without overshadowing the vibrant fruit.
The nose offers lifted aromatics of wild cherry, raspberry, and forest floor, with underlying spice, rose petal, and subtle earthy tones. The palate is finely textured, layered with red berries, savoury depth, and mineral tension. Silky tannins and vibrant acidity carry through to a long, elegant finish.
Made in extremely limited quantities, this is a benchmark New Zealand Pinot Noir with strong cellaring potential. Best enjoyed with decanting over the next 10–15 years.
