— Neal Martin, Vinous · 2023 Vintage
“The 2023 Chablis Village, which comes from a large percentage of older vines, has a pretty nose with more mineralité than the 2024 from tank. The palate is well balanced with a slightly honeyed texture. A dash of stem ginger interlaces the finish that gently fans out. Drink this over the next four years.”
About This Wine
A blend from three parcels located opposite the Premier Cru Vaillons.
Floral and mineral in style, this wine represents the quintessential expression of the Chablis Village appellation.
About the Winery
Domaine Gérard Duplessis was founded in 1895 and is a family-run estate located in the heart of Chablis. Today, it is managed by Lilian Duplessis and farms 9 hectares across Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru sites.
The vineyards have been organically farmed since 2007, with certification achieved in 2013. Biodynamic practices are also incorporated.
Village, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru vineyards are planted on Kimmeridgian limestone soils, while Petit Chablis parcels sit on Portlandian limestone.
