In South Australia’s Clare Valley, brothers Damon and Jonathan Koerner founded Koerner Wines in 2014, rooted in their family’s Gullyview vineyard. Damon, the winemaker, and Jonathan, his business partner, craft vibrant wines using organic practices and minimal intervention. Blending traditional and unconventional varieties like Riesling and Sciaccarello, they highlight Clare Valley’s terroir, earning acclaim as innovative winemakers with a modern approach.   The 2023 Koerner La Korse is a red blend of Sangiovese, Sciaccarello, Grenache, Vermentino, and Carignan, it is hand-harvested, naturally fermented, and aged in stainless steel. Unfined and unfiltered, it offers bright cherry, rose petal, and menthol notes with spicy thyme and amaro bitters. Its crisp acidity, soft tannins, and 12.3% alcohol create a lively, juicy profile with a touch of grip.
