The 2023 Place of Changing Winds Harcourt Syrah is a striking cool-climate expression from granite-rich soils in the Harcourt Valley, Central Victoria. Winemaker Rob Walters captures the purity of site with minimal intervention, creating a wine of precision and depth.
The nose opens with vibrant aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, violets, and crushed pepper, layered with graphite, herbs, and mineral complexity. On the palate, it shows elegance and restraint, with fine tannins, refreshing acidity, and flavours of ripe black fruits, spice, and subtle earth. The finish is long and detailed, reflecting the finesse of its terroir.
Serving & Cellaring
An ideal partner to lamb, venison, chargrilled meats, or hearty vegetarian dishes. Beautiful to enjoy now, yet capable of graceful cellaring for 8–12 years.
