"Experts will fall off their chairs while tasting this wine, while newcomers will feel spectacularly welcome. lt's a slice of eminently affordable luxury, and you'd be mad not to take advantage of it today."
James Suckling – 2023 Vintage
“A lovely balance of Eden Valley spices and Barossa power and strength, with aromas of blackberries, graphite, olive tapenade, violets and purple fruit. The palate is full-bodied with a velvety texture, ultra-fine tannins and flavours of mulberries, mint, pomegranates, cured meat and dark chocolate. A silken finish for this excellent release from a cool vintage. Drink or hold.”

About This Wine
This Shiraz is sourced from Barossa Valley and Eden Valley vineyards with an average vine age of 50 years, comprising 76% Barossa Valley and 24% Eden Valley fruit. Individual parcels are picked in multiple stages for optimal ripeness, then de-stemmed into wooden and concrete open-top fermenters for gentle extraction before basket pressing. The wine settles naturally in underground cement vats before being transferred to French oak barriques.
Ageing spans 18–20 months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak. The 2023 vintage brought above-average winter and spring rainfall and a cooler summer, resulting in later harvesting, low yields and fruit showing brightness, freshness and higher natural acidity. Producer notes highlight lifted aromatics, dense texture and tannins that support long-term structure.
About the Winery
“Torrbreck is the name of a forest near Inverness, Scotland. The name Struie comes from a 157 metre high mountain overlooking the forest. The view across the Dornoch Firth from the Struie is as inspiring as that of the Valley floor from Eden Valley.”
