96/100 — Langtons Classification of Australian Wine 2024 · 2024 Vintage
About This Wine
Lake's Folly Cabernets is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Shiraz made from low-yielding, estate-grown, hand-picked fruit.
The fruit is open-fermented producing softer, more subtle tannins, and then transferred to large old casks for six months for settling.
The wine is then aged in small French oak barriques (new, one-year-old and two-year-old barrels) for approximately one year before bottling.
Excellent long-term cellaring potential of up to 20 years, depending on the vintage.
Producer Notes
Perfumed lifted nose of mulberry, blackberry, and raspberry with hints of coffee. The palate sees the same berry flavours carry over, with smooth, mid-palate weight, supported by classy French oak and a hint of toasty oak.
A seamless wine with great length and persistence of flavour.
