About This Wine
Chardonnay Musqué is an aromatic mutation of Chardonnay, named for its heady, musky perfume. Wines made from this variety typically show lifted, grapey and Muscat-like aromatics.
This vintage is a little lighter on muscat notes than previous years, but they’re still pleasingly present. Ripe tropical fruit and baked goods play nicely with vanilla and rosewater on the nose.
Tasting Notes
The palate is deep, juicy and Chardonnay-driven—green apple and nashi pear meet citrus notes of mandarin, lime zest and ruby grapefruit. Ample fruit character continues through the finish as the acidity gently lifts.
About the Winery
Moorilla makes three styles of wine. Praxis is the bold and the immediate. Muse is the old world remade in the new. Cloth Label is luxurious and daring, decades in the making.
Its sibling winery, Domaine A, produces big, Bordeaux-inspired wines and younger, drink-now styles under the Stoney Vineyard label.
