2024 Moss Wood Chardonnay 750ml

$99.75
Overview The 2024 Moss Wood Chardonnay is a benchmark Margaret River white, combining power, finesse, and remarkable clarity. Produced only in selected vintages, this wine reflects Moss Wood’s uncompromising approach to quality, delivering depth and structure alongside vibrant freshness and precision. Vineyard and Winemaking Fruit is sourced exclusively from Moss Wood’s estate vineyard in Wilyabrup, where gravelly loam soils and cooling maritime influences provide ideal conditions for Chardonnay. Hand-harvested grapes were whole-bunch pressed and fermented in French oak barriques using indigenous yeasts. Full malolactic fermentation and extended lees ageing added complexity, texture, and integration. The wine matured in oak, a proportion new, to build structure while maintaining balance and purity. Tasting Notes Aromas of white peach, grapefruit, and lemon curd are layered with notes of roasted cashew, subtle flint, and brioche. The palate is concentrated and finely structured, revealing citrus and stone fruit depth supported by creamy texture and bright acidity. The finish is long, poised, and mineral, with excellent persistence and clarity. Style and Character Powerful yet refined, the 2024 vintage exemplifies Moss Wood’s classic Chardonnay style — richly flavoured, tightly wound, and built for longevity. It balances generosity with restraint, offering both immediate presence and long-term cellaring potential. Cellaring and Pairing Enjoy now with decanting for its youthful energy, or cellar confidently for 10–15 years as it gains further complexity. Ideal with lobster, roast chicken, grilled scallops, or creamy seafood dishes that complement its structure and depth.
