James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com · 2024 Vintage, Tasted July 2025
“Very defined yet generous aromas of lemon peel, lime leaves, Asian pears, beeswax, white orchard fruit and flint. The midweight palate has tightly wound acidity balanced by a textural, rounded mouthfeel. Vibrant and pure. 100% stainless-steel fermentation. Drink or hold.”
92/100 — Winepilot · 2024 Vintage, Tasted January 2025
“There are pleasing notes of lemon curds, citrus, hints of stone fruit and lemongrass and a whiff of honeycomb. Well structured with good focus and energy, this has drive and is of medium length.”
92/100 — The Wine Front · 2024 Vintage, Tasted January 2025
About This Wine
The 2024 Moss Wood Semillon was produced from hand-picked fruit that was whole-bunch pressed and fermented entirely in stainless steel. Fermentation was temperature controlled and completed over 11 days, followed by clarification, cold stabilisation and sterile filtration prior to bottling on 1 July 2024.
Winery Tasting Notes
Bright condition, medium straw with green tints. Lifted aromas of lemon rind, sherbet, fig and quince, followed by honey, lanolin and gingerbread biscuit complexity. The palate shows zippy acidity with lemon, fig and green apple flavours, supported by fine tannins and a long finish, with a lanolin-like oily texture through the mid-palate.
