Tim Shand's wines at Punt Road have become a known as some of the best value you are likely to find in the Yarra Valley.
Here we have 100% estate grown Chardonnay, aged for a time in oak. Tim's aim with this wine is to give plenty of Chardonnay pleasure without asking a hefty price tag. The flavours are ripe, there is ample support from the oak.
It's a great value Chardonnay for those who like a slightly rounder style from the Yarra Valley.
Producer's Tasting Notes:
Apples, citrus fruits and a hint of minerality. Fresh and crisp, with a clean finish. Despite a cooler growing season, we had a mild summer with gradual fruit maturation resulting in complex and elegant flavours in our wine. We harvested from various blocks from the estate, choosing each block based on flavour characteristics and acids for a fresh, fruit-driven chardonnay. The wine was naturally fermented in French oak with regular lees stirring to build texture and complexity.
