From the Coal River Valley’s limestone-rich soils, this wine embodies precision, fragrance, and structure—hallmarks that have made Tolpuddle one of Australia’s most celebrated single-vineyard Pinot Noirs. Vineyard and Winemaking The Tolpuddle Vineyard, planted in 1988, sits on gently sloping northeast-facing sites in the Coal River Valley, where a long, cool growing season produces fruit of exceptional balance and natural acidity. Handpicked grapes were destemmed with a small proportion of whole bunches to enhance perfume and complexity. Fermentation occurred in open-top stainless steel vats, followed by maturation in fine-grained French oak barriques (about one-third new) for texture and subtle spice. Tasting Notes Lifted aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, and rose petal mingle with notes of spice, cedar, and forest floor.
