From Wendouree's 1920, 1940 Eastern and 1970 Eastern blocks. A straight up cabernet sauvignon. Poised and precise with depth of flavour and an old-school feel to it with Chesterfield lounge, cigar smoke and rich cassis in tow. Leather, woody spices, currants and dark choc-mint notes, clove and mahogany, blackcurrants, blackberry and even a touch of blood orange and ginger, too. Lots going on, is the message. Rich, ripe, dense but medium weight, a compact tannin profile and great extension of flavour. Good chew and a gentle crushed rock minerality in the mix. There's vitality here, stretching long and luxurious. For the long haul and so very poised and beautiful. 97 Points Mike Bennie, Halliday Wine Companion
