Bollinger La Grande Année 2014 is the prestige cuvée from the esteemed Champagne house of Bollinger, produced only in exceptional vintage years. It is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with a majority from Grand Cru vineyards and vinification taking place entirely in oak barrels.
Tasting Note:
Nose: Complex aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit and confit citrus mingle with notes of frangipane, walnuts, and dried white flowers. There's also a subtle hint of iodine and a touch of sea air.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a pillowy and vinous texture. An elegant core of fleshy fruit is underpinned by racy acidity and a fine, creamy mousse. Flavors of crème de cassis, glazed tangerine, roasted hazelnut, and pickled ginger emerge.
Finish: Long and chalky, with minerally salt and chalk notes gaining momentum. It's a charming yet precise Grande Année with a refined and persistent character
