Château Palmer Alter Ego de Palmer 2011 is the estate’s second wine from Margaux. In a cool, structured vintage, this Merlot-forward wine balances fruit with poised tannins, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of Petit Verdot. It offers classic Margaux elegance with depth and aging potential. Drink over the next 6–12 years, pairing nicely with roasted lamb, beef ragout, mushroom dishes, or mature cheeses. Best served around 60–63°F and can benefit from a short decant.
Tasting notes:
Appearance: Ruby with subtle garnet edges.
Nose: Blackberry, black cherry, and plum layered with tobacco, cedar, graphite, and a hint of vanilla.
Palate: Medium-full body, smooth yet present tannins, bright acidity; flavors of dark fruit, cocoa, and spice; well-integrated oak; refined, persistent finish.
