From one of the highest sites in Beaujolais, Chatenay delivers a particularly lifted and finely detailed expression of Chiroubles. The 2024 leans into that natural elegance: bright raspberry and red cherry fruit are threaded with violet lift and a gentle citrus oil nuance, while a faint ink-like note adds welcome complexity. The texture is supple and “lacy” in feel, but there is enough underlying tension from the granite and sandstone soils to keep everything precise. Already immensely drinkable, this will reward mid-term cellaring as the savoury elements begin to emerge.
