Corcelette’s sandy, granitic soils are on full display here, giving a wine that is notably perfumed and texturally refined for Morgon. The aromatics are open and expressive, blueberry, red flowers, and a touch of sarsaparilla, while the palate is rounded, silky and seamless. Compared to the more structured cuvées that follow, this is the most immediately approachable, yet it retains enough shape and gentle tannic grip to hold interest. There’s a precision here that makes it particularly compelling in its youth.
