Hand picked and whole bunch pressed. Juice is allowed to settle for about an hour then racked to barrel to complete fermentation using natural yeast. The wine completes malolactic fermentation to reduce the prominence of primary fruit characters and is then stirred intermittently until spring. The Estate Vineyard consists of a series of small plots of mature Chardonnay. These plots consistently produce the finest, most detailed wines grown by the family. The oldest vines were planted in 1976 and the youngest plantings in 2012. Delicious drinking now but will develop into a wine with even more gravitas and complexity over the next 3-6 years.
