Giaconda - Nantua 'Les Deux' Shiraz - 2022

Another cool ripening season has delivered delicately spiced shiraz. This wine has been made from select parcels of fruit sourced from the exceptional Warner Vineyard. The 2022 is medium-bodied and already approachable as a young wine. Bright red cherry and roasted beetroot compete with exotic spices of white pepper, cinnamon, and sandalwood. There is a hint of briar and stem influence with damp undergrowth notes adding to an evolving bouquet. The palate is soft and creamy. A mid-weight wine with fine tannins and a cleansing acid spine ensuring freshness. It's one of those wines that clearly falls into the camp of shiraz but wanting to masquerade as a pinot.
