Matured in American oak casks (30% new). Dense inky black in colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Distinct liquorice top notes pour out of the glass followed by blackberry, dark plum, vanillin oak and spice notes. Rich juicy liquorice and dark plum fruits are overtaken by prominent vanillin oak with some fennel and delicate pepper also evident. Sturdy yet velvet like tannins with a sweet fruited finish laden with vanillin oak.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
