2021 Vintage
95/100 — Winepilot · Tasted: Sep 2024
“This was such a brilliant vintage in the Barossa. This is a blend of 63% Shiraz, 29% Cabernet and smaller Cabernet Franc and Merlot inclusions. Loaded with rich dark and dense fruit delivered with a certain panache and poise. It’s multi-layered with dark chocolate and dusty fruit working with chalky tannins and super fine-grained oak. Retains its brightness and energy through to a very long finish.”
2015 Vintage
94/100 — The Wine Front · Tasted: May 2019
94/100 — Jeremy Oliver · Tasted: Jan 2016 · Drinking Window: 2027 to 2035
93/100 — Wine Enthusiast · Tasted: Apr 2020
“This vintage of Henschke's Shiraz dominant red blend (with includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a touch of Cab Franc) is one of its most approachable. Still showing off an air of aristocratic polish, it is highly herbal and a little sanguine, with notes of baked plum, tomato leaf, beef in hoisin sauce and stony minerals. Silky in texture, tannins are spicy and sexy, slinking along a spine of laser-like acidity and ending on a long, herbal note. Drink now–2030.”
