Very steep, very chalky – also very young vines in a sort of continuation of the Clos de Tavannes. A mix of two vine-ages, one large part (actually 90%), only 13 years old. “Historically, in Santenay, they planted what they could sell – so there was a lot of red – the white plantations were often for personal consumption but seemingly in soils that were properly suited to white.” A finer width, less scale of aroma vs the Tremblots, but growing with an extra floral perfume. Mouth-filling, fluid, very silky. Great finishing – what an excellent wine!! Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report
