The current 2022 vintage is excellent, totally impenetrable, super saturated inky black colour with an equally deep black dark red hue. A touch restrained at first the nose slowly builds in the glass to deliver an intense aromatic profile of inky blackberry, liquorice and blackberry trailed by some vanillin cedar, scorched earth, fennel and blackpepper notes. Careful cellaring will result in an exceptional reward! 96 Points "Georgia's Paddock is back, no longer supplemented by fruit grown by friends following some challenging vintages. Sports slightly higher alcohol than usual (15.5%), but it's carried well, managed by firm structural tannins. A youngster, it deserves a thorough slosh before serving, time to release those captive aromas and flavours of briar, blackcurrant, plum, blueberry, savoury olive and spice.
