"From the Lusatia Park vineyard planted at Woori Yallock in 1985 and purchased by the De Bortoli family in 2016. The fruit for this wine is from the Lusatia B Block. Fermented in 5t wooden fermenters; 15-20% whole bunches and matured in new and used 228L French casks for 11 months, with a further 3 months to settle in vats before bottling. A very deep ruby red. Densely packed with dark plums, Christmas cake spices and a complex cured meat/umami character. A rich mouthful of dark plummy fruit, with powdery and persistent tannins rounding out a wine that will need another 2 to 3 years before it really hits its straps. 94 points"
