Penfolds - Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon - 2010

This 2010 release is thoroughly intoxicating. It’s cabernet, it’s Penfolds, it’s new American oak and whether you think any of those things are fashionable or favourable or not, its inherent quality is superb. Intensely concentrated blue and black berries. Seams of dust, fennel seeds and assorted dried herbs. Toasty vanillin oak, woven and in harmony. It’s a substantial wine, with substantial tannin and length. The finish is sweet, firm, juicy.
